Street-effective self-defence

By blending with oncoming force rather than opposing it, and through the proper use of leverage, aiki jiujitsu enables its practitioners to deal with physical assault from assailants much larger and stronger than they are. Through a serious and dedicated study of a handful of basic moves and principles, the trained aiki jiujitsu practitioner develops literally thousands of combinations of techniques to use in any situation of self defence or the defence of loved ones.

Fitness

Through aiki jiujitsu training, you will strengthen yourself and keep fit, both mentally and physically, through the exercise you receive while perfecting the use of aiki jiujitsu techniques. The exercise will also help you improve your posture, flexibility, and balance while decreasing tension and stress. You will become more graceful and fluid in your movements.

Through aiki jiujitsu you will improve your general sense of well-being.

Through its three-sided triangle of mind, body, and spirit, North Star aiki jiujitsu ultimately teaches students to deal with all forms of conflict in life, not just physical conflict on the street. The lessons embedded in our art extend off the mat and into the realms of educational, professional, and family life as well.
